You'd be better off waiting to see if a local Kent member would be willing to show you/help you in exchange for a pint or six!!. Wink. Once out you could carry out the 'conversion' recently shown so you can remove the clock without disturbing the remainder of the dash. Details of 'Spannerdemons' mod are HERE.

Fascia panel isn't as hard as it looks. Apart from screwdrivers you'll need a pair of DIN radio removal keys (only about a quid from a car stereo shop). Don't pull the fascia too hard, ease it out and disconnect the multiplugs behind as you go (squeeze the metal clip on each plug in to release it), easy enough to get everything back together afterwards. The radio might get jammed in the fascia, if it does, put the keys in, lever them outwards and pull gently when the panel is loose.

This is a better way of removing the c/c panel too, less risk of damage.

It's going to go. Count on it!!  And I'm going to absolutely piss myself laughing when it does!!

Just seen that the picture that I'd put on site was the one before I put the black screws in!!  Now sorted, and the finished modded picture is there.

Agree

Do the job right, the bulb has lasted up till now so once every 7 years is not un reasonable to whip out the dash panel to change a few bulbs.

Mabye he just didn't want to risk breaking anything, Fords aren't the best when it comes to quality trim.

£30 sounds ok, I know places where it would have come to far more and that fascia can be a b****r to pull out without breaking when the radio jams or one of the screws goes mis-threaded...
