More Headlights

As the head lights on the scorp are soo poor (particularly on dip) I have tried many different types of bulbs, extra relays, better wiring ect, but had resigned myself to fitting HID to all three of mine, untill I tried Osram Silver Star bulbs, they are standard output (55w)but the differance is amazing, you can actually see the road now. I now stock the whole range & am reccomending them as an upgrade to customers.

Do  you stock the  Osram Silver Star   bulbs  in  the   9007 HB5   size ?

My Crown Vic  has  even worse lights than the Scorp !

(  Osram's  Sylvania  Xtravision   bulb range is even better  judging  by   American  Car Forums , but is available   in  N. America only ) Cry

Had silverstar bulbs, got Philips extravision, Philips a gnats wotsit better but hardly any difference would recommend either. As mentioned cleaning/replacing lenses makes the world of difference and would recommmend this is done before changing bulbs.

have you tried stripping the headlights and cleaning the inner focusing lense?, it's a tip i suggested on another topic and id seriously think about it. a few members on here have and they have seen a huge improvement and costs nothing (unless you drop the headlight glass Tongue)

yeh done all that, 100w bulbs, 130w bulbs, blue bulbs, xennon(supposedly)bulbs in 55w & 100w, better wiring to avoid volt drop, extra relays the lot, the next step would have been HID, but the silver stars work quite good, I will see how they go. I think my biggest problem is all the years I have competed on rallys, both road & stage, you get used to (rely on) proper competition spec lighting.

I have just fitted some of these Osram Silver Star bulbs, as Martin suggested.
I must say they are far superior than the standard fittings.
Bulbs cost less than a tenner and really easy to fit.

Thanks Martin.

Thanks, I have ordered 2x sets (dip and main). £9.65 per set + combined postage of £2.79.

I'll do a side by side comparison against the standard lamps when they turn up.
