yep, thought of that.....  Grin

but car is not taxed or insured, and has been sitting for 6 months, so might be a bit obvious even if i did get it started.... plus i would have to pay to get there and back, which is probably as much.....

local might be the way forward, £1 a mile was more in line with my thinking.....

Buy a cheap trailer off Ebay (or borrow one) and then sell it again?

Only an idea.  Smiley

Most of the 'transporters charge both ways The cost of fuel and time is all high these days.

It's certainly NOT worth risking driving it. There are cameras all over the place and Number Recognition gadgets on all Motorways now. Get stopped by the police, and they can take the car off you there and then and have it crushed flat before you can blink.  Shocked

Hi tintin,I used to have a recovery service, have a look on ebay as some tend to advertise on there, failing that try to get someone as local to the car as possible because most transporters charge from their base to pickup and then mileage to dropoff.Good luck.Roy.

Have you got a towbar? I have a trailer you could borrow if its not in use. Its been used to transport a number of granada and scorpio estates before. Depending on timings over christmas and new year I may also be able to assist you in the collection of the car.

Let me know if this is of any help.

Stuart,

Yes, same as mine.....think i caught the bug off you  Grin

Paul

That would be brilliant, i will see if i can get a reasonable price for moving it first, as it will still cost a lot for me to travel, petrol, etc, probably more than the £150 i should be able to get the job done for. But if its gonna be more, then i will take you up on the offer.

Pete, many thanks, i have emailed them,

Cheers all

Hi Paul,

Sorry, forgot to let you know, yes i got it towed (£240  Shocked) see my post in parts for sale, pics of the car there....

All went smoothly until we arrived at my parents, when the guy informed me it was a "cash only" job. I was going to pay by card, they hadnt mentioned it in any of the emails/phone calls up to that point.... oops.

Many thanks for the offer though,

Sam
