Interesting idea for a dead un. Seen cars others that have gone that way, either with roof off as a flatbed or roof on as a towable van, never seen a Scorp go that way.

If there are no pictures one of our photoshop experts should be able to knock up a visual on what this might look like.

They used to do the same thing to Capris, called it the 'Bobcat' conversion...normal Capri front end but with everything behind the front seats removed and a flatbed installed...sold a few too.

I reckon the best way would be to take it down flush with the front edge of the rear doors.
I've seen other makes done by cutting the car flush below the front windscreen but the Scorpio is too long for that, for both looks and trailer balance.

thats what i thought but what to make front end look like, maybe two rear ends back to back. just flat would look silly and be quite short David

id chop the car just behind the front doors, so that you have the full space of the rear and boot. id then cut the windscreen and supporting metal work off the front and weld it to the cut line of the rear, but at a steeper angle. id then fill the gap with a rounded section with a storage bin (like the front of a caravan). should be easy enough to sort the electics to the lights and i'd try to go for the same body colour and alloys as on the tow car...
