Yes you are correct in thinking it is a new manifold, (around £230), I would try a repair as some have done first as it might only be the start of your problems, (split head between cyls 2-3), Hope it isn't though Undecided

keep an eye on the coolant resevoir, if the heads cracked, you'll get the nasty pale gunge in the tank. then it's a new head and a lot of flushing Undecided

You could try repairing it using a hot knife, to seal the crack.
Then use some Quick Steel to repair over it  Smiley

Or if you'd like, I could send you some of my wifes home made, Christmas, sage & onion stuffing....that stuff should seal it up good & proper..... Grin

...I reckon I'm gonna need a kangoo to get that out of the bottom of the dish.... Grin  ROFL

So that's where our Christmas stuffing came from then, eh? Angry

Was going to use it to repair the cracks in the old lath and plaster ceiling but it's all stuck in a lump in my belly Grin

Merry Christmas Jonny...and everyone else Wink

Bruce...it's no good for repairing lath & plaster........it may be plyable for about 30 minutes, but after that, it sets rock solid....so a bit heavy  Grin

Probably good for engine block repairs though....... Grin

Merry Christmas Bruce & a happy new year..

....all the best....Jonny... & Caroline (the maker of the sticky(epoxy resin) sage & onion stuffing)  Smiley

Thanks...gonna try a repair, let you know how it turns out, though without stripping it looks suspiciously like a problem caused during or subsequent to head gasket failure (previous owners apper to have jubilee clip around ECT and a lot of sealant!)

Not seen the sealer from Halfords Shaun, but I'll have to check it out  Smiley

My manifold is still holding strong since I fixed it three months ago with a hot knife & Quick Steel.

If your gonna fix it Davidberryman, then this may come in usefull....just scroll down a bit  Wink
