Another diagnostic aid (CTM)?

In another thread I found there is a diagnostic system for the Central Timer Module, as not much seems to be known about this - so I have started another thread.

I seem to be able to engage it by pressing the rear screen heater button, holding it in and turning the ignition on. Once the ignition is on I can release it and I hear four short beeps followed by a continuous tone. This happens whether I have a door ajar or not.

Interior lighting no longer works automatically, nor can I turn interior lights on at their manual switches.

So that is the extent of my finding on this so far and nothing I could find makes any difference to the continous tone, apart form turning the ignition off at which point all returns to normal. Does anyone know any more?

I only gave it a quick test in the supermarket car park while waiting for SWMBO. So far as I have been able to test the car, everything is now spot on and fully functional - so I would be interested in the reports of others on this bit of diagnostics.

Not saying this applies to you, but a continuous tone on mine turned out to be that old chestnut - the glove box light staying on.

Mmm, funny you should mention that...

The lamp was blown when I got it three months ago. I fitted a new one and noticed that had gone again last week. After installing yet another, I checked after opening the box, whether the lamp was warm. It wasn't, suggesting it was not staying on with the lid closed, also checking the switch which was OK - so I left it at that.
