Installing CCM?

I thought all Scorpio -95-> had Central locking with remote, but I didnt get any remotes with the car, and I dont have that "magic box" behind the glove box, the cables are there, but no CCM.

Is it possible to install this anyway and program a new remote to the system?

A friend of mine has an unused remote..

I didnt get any keys with "red dots" either??!

ALL scorpio's have central locking.
All you need is a working remote and programme that to the car as described on the main site  ALL HERE
CCM i take it you mean climate control module !

No not possible to retro fit if thats what you are asking.

Sorry, I ment Central Control, thougt CCM was that Cheesy
(My car has Climat Control btw)

Looked at this guide:
http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/manual/electrical/intbasic/CentralContModul e.pdf

Thats the box i´m talking about, the cables are there, but no box!

Ive got Central Locking, thats not the problem, I dont have a remote or that "Central Control" box..

Or is that Central control for something else and not the Remote central locking?

hi there

i'd try the remote out first without adding the timer module.

see programming the remote.

you need to ask yourself, why was the timer module removed? was it just faulty, or was it doing 'other things'? draining the battery, for one. Undecided it's a bit strange for it to be missing, imo.

I bought the car like this, the last owner didnt either have a remote.

What exactly does that "Timer Module" do?

Where is the "real" box for Central locking, where is that thing that "answers" to the Remote?  Huh

Had a Cargard in my last car, and that alarm needed an antenna or cable etc to work. Not to mention some kind of "box" to control  Tongue

EDIT: Found this on the forums, its this box im talking about:

"Open the glove box, look down at where the plastic support arms fix onto the bit that drops down - at either side, you will find a couple of metal brackets. These have a springy bit on them, which if you push on it will release the arm - thus allowing the box to drop all the way down. Once free, it just pulls out of the back hinge pivot slots.

Once out, you will see a black plastic cased unit, with 3 sockets and only two multi-plugs plugged into it (probably).

This is the CCM (Central Control Module). The CCM is the multiplex unit which controls door mirror positions, seat positions, alarm system, locking and unlocking, receives the signal from the remote control etc"

Now, how can my Central Locking etc work with Keys when i dont have that box?

Something not quite right here.

The CCM runs the central locking and receives the signals from the remote (plus many other things). No CCM installed means no central locking and many other things not working. You do have a Scorpio don't you?

The CCM is a black plastic box with three sockets facing you and only two of these occupied, middle and right hand ones. To the left can usually be found an unconnected plug tied to the CCM's left hand side.

The timer module makes the bong noise you hear when you try to get out leaving the lights on, or the autobox in anything but Park, it also operates the interior lights delay and other functions.

Not sure about the key problem - One possible scenario is that a key with the red module has been stuck in place close to the ignition lock, as a means to bypass the PATS and enable an ordinary key to be used. The PATS system prevents the car from being started unless it electronically recognises the key (the red bit in the key).  You should be able to confirm this by removing the lower cover which goes around the ignition switch and looking for a key stuck around that area.

PATS light (the red light in the centre just under the windscreen) will light as you turn the ignition on, for several seconds to confirm it accepts the keys PATS code.

You can get a CCM from a scapper and program it to work with any remote, but the remote must be one intended for the Scorp. This has three buttons and is a fob type.
