3rd Brake light progress (slow)

The supply cable is indeed there and would have taken minutes to confirm, had I only taken the off side rear speaker out first, rather than the rear piller plastic trim. Speaker out (remove the single bolt from the boot), look from inside the car facing backwards in the hole from which the speaker was removed and there is a loop of wire carefully clipped into a purpose made double cable bracket. You might just be able to feel the loop with your finger tips from inside the boot, with the speaker still in place. Unclip and work out which is the loose end of the loop There was a large dollop of grey sponge pushed in and some off white coloured sponge around the spade connectors too. Once out in the clear, I was able to plug the light in and test it - it works. I am now just struggling with the fitting of the light- I have both speakers out and I still cannot budge the parcel tray. Not a trace of any movement, despite a few choice words. I notice a small aperture in the middle looking up near the lip of the boot - with what look like two bolt heads - I have had a badly fitting socket on these, but I cannot shift 'em. I will add that I cannot see them very well, so they may not be bolt heads. So what could possibly still be holding this parcel tray down - is it glued in place? Can the light be fitted without distrubing the parcel tray? Anyone got any photos of where the spade terminals are supposed to poke through and the location of the sockets for the bolts which hold the light in place?

Harry, try a PM to Taliban. If you look back to October he did his so he must be able to help. There is no reference to 'removing' the parcel shelf just a mention of 'cutting' it. Mike.

The parcel shelf only clips into place. Drop the back seats forward and lift the overhang of material from the shelf. With the speakers out, the shelf should just lift off. It is held in place by a couple of those half inch long plastic barbs and should come out easily. The captive nuts you were trying to shift are welded in place and are what the brake light screws into!! Baz

I fitted mine without removing the rear parcel shelf , and FYI I still have NOT been able to find the loom connection. I just linked into the brake light circuit and soldered and covered with heatshrink. BTW I have the 12v HTH
