door ajar switch

hi is anyone familiar with the passenger door ajar switch as far as i can see its located on the left hand side of the door as your looking at it from inside the only problem is how do i remove and replace it ? i need to do this as its effecting my alarm system as warning light stays on when door is shut . any ideas thanx

I believe there's two, the one on the post which controls the interior lights and the one in the lock which makes the alarm go off at 2am... Tali is right, WD40 cured my rogue alarm on two occasions... Mike or someone should know more Regards, Bruce.

ive tried WD40 no look if i crossed the wires could this be tempory fix or blown fuse ?

Daz, have you tried the switch in the door post too? undo the screw and it pulls out, you can clean the plunger from there... Other switch is in the door lock, not easy I fear Regards, Bruce.

hi yeah ive replaced that one too but just looked on fault page and it states the door ajar switch is located in door locking module which one is this please .....

Well, as far as I know it's jargon for door lock, the microswitch is in the dooe lock mech as far as I know... Keep goin'

problem with door ajar switch now fixed i had to bypass the switch because alarm was not setting everthing working fine now thanx all for your help darren
