Aldi specials!

Aldi had a few useful bits on offer last Thursday, amongst them- A small trolley jack at £9.99 and a tyre service kit at £4.99. The latter was a digital pressure gauge, tread depth gauge, valve spanner and four valves covers. I already had two digital gauges for which I had paid quite a bit more than £4.99, but the operation of this one is much more logical than my others. I could not quite fathom out the four valve tops - they are much longer than just a cap (1.5" long) and have a metal insert in them. So what are these all about then? Not much to say about the jack, other than it is cheap and it works. Too good to miss at the price, despite having a full sized garage item.

| I think it's a 2 ton. Bought the jump starter thing last year, Used it a few times as I don't use the Scorpio through the winter, well worth the money. Had a look at the tyre service kit today, I think the black things are valve extensions

| Yes, 2 ton. They don't lift very high, but good for a standby. Extensions would make some sense, but they seem to call them four spare valve caps.

We've got an Aldi in Wickford....& I'm going up there tomorrow to check out these bargains Went there a while back & got a great tap & dye set for £2.99 (M3 - M6), & two adjustable rubber wrap around wrenches for opening jam jars etc (great for oil filters), for £1.49. They didn't have any trolley jacks at the time....but hopefully they'll have some tomorrow

I've got one of them small trolley jacks, yes it's true the lifting height is limited and beware, those little trolley front wheels will dig into your tarmac on your drive. So if you don't want two little indents on your drive put the trolley on a bit of wood.

Last week one of them (Aldi or Lidl) had some rather neat fold up crawler boards (for skidding about under the car) in so I grabbed one and an adjustable height work stool.
