idle/trouble codes + more

Have just bought a Scorpio with some problems which I hope to be able to fix or get fixed. The car is a -95 2.0L 16v, one of the first ones, left the assembly line in Oct. -94. The car has 142000 kilometers on it and had one owner before me. Very nice cosmetics, all the options seem to work excluding the right rear PW which I think is only propably stuck due to little use. Maybe a good hit with a hammer to the motor will release it.

But the main worries: Idling not the correct way, you can here it going up and down a bit, tacho doesn't show it. If I add more revs it seems to run ok, no missfiring when driving. Sometimes if I leave it idling, suddenly the revs drop down, like turning off the key, but just before stopping it wakes up again.

Pulled out the codes: P1130, P1131, P1132, P0171 any suggestions how to start. Visually checked the vacuum lines and wiring and they look ok.

And the second problem: Luxorious and silent, that I was expecting...mine, not quite silent. Drives fine, no extra sounds coming from the chassis but when the speed goes over 70km/h a whining(hard for me to describe sounds in English, whining feels, sounds like a good word)) sound starts to hear. It reaches the loudest point in 80.
I don't feel any vibration. The sound doesn't change if I push the clutch down or shift to neutral. For sure it is not tire related becouse I just installed winter tires and nothing changed. To me it sounds like a bearing. Does the prop shaft have a bearing. My fast look underneath showed that it has been packed too well to see anything. Maybe a wheel bearing but usually you are able to say which side it's coming from, but this seems to come from all over.

So far as the codes go - they all relate to the Cats (see the site info on HO2S monitors). Did you record/save the data from the scans: how did MAF reading change with rpm, what readings from the LTFTs?

Could be the MAF (is it clean?) or even the fuel pressure regulator.

If you zip the scan files (3) and post on the mailing list someone might be able to open it and check for you.
