The mount for the handle which opens the bonnet breaks sometimes,  theres a catch which bolts to the bonnet and is connected to the handle by a wire.

Whats up with yours?

I have a spare one if you need it

What bit is it you need? the plastic bit that sometimes breaks is part of the front grille but the handle, wire and catch are a seperate part

Yep but a cable tie does a good job of holding the handle in place Wink

yep thats how it works, pull the lever inside the car, the handle to lift the bonnet is underneath the bonnet at the front below the grille, slip your fingers in slightly right of centre and pull it upwards.

The grille is held in place by a few nuts or bolts depending on the type easy to remove

ok thank you for help ..
on my car at the moment you just pull the release cable and then lift the bonnet up so there is no other catch to release it just the bonnet release which i suppose is dangerous

it is if you dont shut it right..

Just for the record... from previous (off road) experience, the Scorpio bonnet if not closed properly will fly open at around 50mph  Grin

Have you got the catch Tony? or has someone removed the whole lot maybe because the handle was broken?

This page shows the catch on fig 2

This shows how to remove it
