hi, i have to hold my key fob to the wing paintwork to make my doors unlock?, ive got a new battery for it but im scared ill lose the code when i take the batteries out ?? i cannot open the doors with my key you see so i have to use the fob?... any ideas..ash

Ash, have a look at this for repairing the fob to make it work properly: http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/remote_repair.htm and this for reprogramming it to your car: http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/remote.htm Do this with your car unlocked and with the drivers window open, just as a precautionary measure so you definitely won't get locked out

Hi I'm sure the batteries have to be out of the handset for about 10 minutes or more till it loses the code, I've never had a problem when changing batteries. But if you are worried about it then unlock the car first, change the batteries and if the code is lost then reprogramming is easily achieved.

The other thing is to get the locks sorted. A re-build kit is cheap and the job is well documented on this site if you want to go that route.Go to This page and read the first two items.
