the pipe that goes from the oil cooler to the auto box started leaking and, as 1 is not available to me at present I have cut the pipe back and fitted a piece of 3/8 petrol pipe connecting the pipe to the cooler. It is pushed about 1-1.5 inches onto the metal pipe and I have secured it using 2 jubillee clips. took her for a run and all seems secure enough but is it advisable to get the correct pipe, I did replace the short one that goes from the cooler to the main rad a couple of months ago, but I know that my local FMD hasn't got one & told me then they were not made anymore.

If it's holding OK and since it's coming from the cooler rather than going to it the ATF won't be too hot, I don't see the problem with leaving it as it is. As long as it's not leaking I don't think it comes under the MOT. ( Don't quote me though, I'm not a tester )
