evening all, just about to take the plunge and buy  a '95 M 2.0 16V Auto Ultima Estate, (M715POA), looked at the buyers guide and most things check ok, Just a few Querys,
1)  It's missing it's luggage cover, difficult to obtain?
2) Self levelling suspension, never had a car with it before, so how do I check it's working properly?
3) Being an auto (and all the myths contained within lol) what's the best way to check it's doing it's stuff when I test drive?
Thanks for all the help, looking forward to being part of something special.

you werent driving round hyde park corner this afternoon were you?

load covers crop up on ebay from time to time, normally black, pumice seem quite rare
the suspension i would think you can test by sitting on one corner of the load area, i've got an ex wife you can use for this if needed, she's fat and will squish it down nicely Roll Eyes
its a while since i've owned an auto so others will give better advice, but make sure it changes into gear smoothly and uses all the gears and that you have 'kick down', dont forget to check that reverse operates smoothly. also check the autobox dipstick, the transmission fluid should be a clean pink/red. that said, some gearbox related problems arent actually the gearbox, they can often be a dirty MAF, which is a fifteen minute simple cleaning job......

p.s. we're all special cases here.....

yep taliban has pretty much covered it all, regarding the autobox,DO check the oil,oil is everything really, colour and smell,no clunks and just make sure it engages gear pretty much straight away (as already mentioned check reverse as well),nice and smooth, kicks down straight away...
good luck

Agree and welcome to the site ps check the car pulls away in 1st and 2nd as well as drive you can  pull away in 1st then move lever to 2nd then drive dont over rev while you are doing this. all gears should engage smoothly.
