The V6 12V has an OBD II socket, but it doesn't use OBDII. It has an EEC IV ECU, which needs either the Star type diagnostic unit, or the unit several of us with this particular car are in the process of putting together ourselves. You are a little late to join us, but take a look at this thread:- http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=Advice;action=di splay;num=1169912580 Nothing at all to stop you buying the bits and building one by yourself though. They just make the diagnostic process that bit easier, they don't do anymore than the basic Star tester. There is a very simple circuit for the Star tester on the main site - I posted a thread describing how that could be improved with the addition of a piezo sounder. It is a matter of throwing a switch at the correct time and counting flashes of the LED (or buzzes), to work out the fault codes, then checking a list of fault code numbers to determine the actual fault.

If you can get hold of the parts Jim, I'll build you one...one extra won't be a problem
