hi guys, im back for some advice, had my 2.3 ultima '96 since october has been brilliant except for the wipers packing up when it snowed last month, anyway that fixed and it went straight through mot last saturday even better. But now its developed a slight misfire/hesitation on part throttle, when moving or stationary its bearable but it sounds like an electrical gremlin that will get worse and leave me stranded somwhere, i was thinking plugs/leads or hopefully not coil pack or sensor. any quick pointer before i open the toolbox. cheers scott

Hi scottystar, i had the same problem with my scorp but its the 2.9 12v model, not sure if its similar at all but a scan couldnt find the problem. I changer the HT leads and dizzy cap, rota arm and sparks as they were looking a bit ill, also try and clean out the Throttle Idle Valve, that made mine a lot better. Im not by no means as good as most the guys on here but it may be a start hope it helps jim

hi there pull the same vac pipe off the egr pipe and block it with a small screw. see if that improves things. also a obd-2 scan might show up a few things. hth
