as the scorpio is just as bad as jeep at headlight's,i was wondering what upgrade bulbs any of you have used,i can remember someone posting a thread regarding philips silverstar bulbs and apparently these were very highly recommended... now mine uses very odd bulbs (9005xs and 9006xs respectively),and trying to source any decent bulbs in the UK is pretty difficult,i can however get sylvania silverstar's (philips USA) shipped to me here,i can also get the "so called" xenon "HID effect" type bulbs off of ebay for a fiver (i think that says it all )... would prefer the "branded" name ones as personally i think they are better..... anyone have any tips?

yeah there are a few you can get this site is good http://www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk/home.php or you could splash out and buy a HID kit before doing anything though, remove the headlamp glass and clean the focusing lense, this will make a huge improvement

I believe the silverstars should be very good. Atleast that seems to be the general opinion. Haven't had a chance to test them myself though.

| Matt thanks for the link, problem is it's dead at the moment, might be the website.. ,will keep trying.... as for taking the lens off,on mine i'm afraid that is not an option, typical yanks, totally sealed, but on the scorpio, yes i can very much recommend doing thaty as it really does make a difference...

The SilverStar series is of OSRAM/Sylvania not of Philips. I just checked the OSRAM homepage. They provide 9005xs / 9006xs only in standard design. The Philips site search did not return results, but didn't check exhaustively. Regards Armin
