Hi guys, I was looking at my rear brakes the other day and noticed that there were wires coming from the centre back face of the brake caliper to a connector but were,nt connected to anything else. can you tell me what they are for and where they should be plugged into. Will they cause my abs/tc lights to stay on

The ONLY wires that I am aware of going to the rear brakes are the sensor wires ..... Have a look HERE

the correct scorpio brake pads have no sensors, but the same shaped pad is fitted to other models, but has warning sensors in, usually just cut them off if you cant get correct ones.

with Martin. Many pattern part pads have the wear indicator wires but the car does not have the warning lights etc fitted. This was the case even when I worked in the garage many years ago. If the wire is coming from the edge of one of the pads just cut it off. Having reread your post I dont think this is the case hear. Got to admit I cant remember any wires coming from the back of the caliper. The only ones I am aware of are the abs sensor wires but these come from the edge of the hub. A photo would be helpful if you can.

just had the rear wheels off to clean the sensors and noticed that the wires come from the back of the CALIPER and follow the sensor wire up (well mine don't) into the car
