Airbag light

Now then. What should the airbag light do on the dashboard? Should it light up when you switch the ignition on, then go off? Mine doesn't do anything at all, ever, and I don't know if this is a problem or not. I have the dash out to change all the bulbs, but the airbag light is an LED so can't have failed I guess. The airbag module is present and plugged in, and the fuse is okay. Do I have an airbag problem?

I did wonder if someone had bypassed it. Apparently it's not an MOT fail because I got one last week. Also some cursory Google research suggests there is no airbag element to the MOT test currently. Any ideas on testing/replacing the LEDs?
