dan_the_man, ADAC (german AAC) recently tested summer tyres in two sizes. The models Nankang ULTRA SPORT NS-2 and Marangoni Vanto in size 205/55 R16 V got a "less recommendable" because of weaknesses on wet surfaces. The model Falken Ziex ZE 512 even got a "not recommendable" because of its poor traction on wet surfaces. If you understand German, you can have a look for yourself: http://www.adac.de/Tests/Reifentests/Sommerreifen/205_55_R16V/default.as p?ComponentID=173758&SourcePageID=8772# Regards Armin

Well, I've had dealings with both Nexen and Nankang tyres now and they've both been fine, for both ride and wear. Maybe not as good as a premium tyre in the wet or as quiet as one but not bad nevertheless. I'm not actively endorsing them or would buy them if I had the money for a well known brand, just saying they've been fine on cars I've bought with them on, kept the Nexens on the Scorp until I sold it and they were fine in 10k miles, barely lost a mm of tread in that time. Regards, Bruce.
