Ticking noise

With the ignition switched on, a ticking niose, exactly like a clock, can be heard at the front N/S of the engine bay....seems to be coming from underneath the MAF Anyone know what it is ?

Mike....It does sound as though it is coming from the compressor. Is it usual for it to make a ticking noise ?.....
