Hi, I have a problem with the locking mechanism on the passenger door. It hums and all the other locks cycle, i have taken the trim off the door and sprayed WD40 onto the part that was humming but it's still not working right i think i may need a new motor. Any ideas before i look for another motor, if i do indeed need a motor does anyone have an idea on how much i would expect to pay? Cheers Rich

Hi Rich, I would try unplugging the suspect motor and see if it makes any difference when you lock and unlock the car. Obviously if the rest then lock and unlock as they should you then know you nead a motor. Or is something in the lock mechanism jammed, You could try disconecting the motor from the mechanism and see if it still hums. I have not done this myself but it should show if that motor or lock mechanism is faulty. (If anyone has any more experience of these please feel free to correct me. If you havn't already done so stick a post in the parts wanted section, I am sure there will be a few knocking around for not a lot of money. Hope that helps Al

| Sorry to sound stupid this is what i think is happening but i don't know how to disconnect the motor i noticed there is a cable of some sort going into the top of the white rubber sheath and something clipped to the back that operated the rod which is connected to both the door handle and the handle inside of the door. How do i disconnect the motor? Thanks in advance Rich
