I've just managed to obtain a CD Multi-changer for my1996 2.9 Giah Auto Estate. Unfortunately there is no cable with it. The head unit is a 7000RDS (E.O.N) Anyone got an idea of where I can get a suitable cable and what is the best location for the changer unit? Regards, Iain

Are you sure that your car doesn't already have the lead fitted? Otherwise, put a posting on parts wanted and someone breaking a car should be able to help. Or try a breakers. I know that there are 2 Scorps at a breakers in Derby and both have the lead, but they are a hell of a job to get out. Good luck Ian

I'm not sure if the lead is already fitted. Have you any idea where the unit is normally fitted in the estate car? If I knew this I could start searching any nearby looms. Previous cars I have owned had the cd Changer under the passenger seat but I don't know about the Scorpio. Regards, Iain

Its in the boot on the left hand bulkhead. (saloon and Estate). Pull back the left hand carpet and see if the lead is there. Ian

Just has a look and I can't see any sign of a cable, unless it's tucked up behind the side trim. I've had a look behind the access panel for the lights and in the little cubbyhole on the left side panel but can't find anything. Iain

I've just stripped off the side panel and checked the wiring loom. There is no sign of a CD connector The loom comes over the wheel arch and along the chassis then the speaker cable splits out. The loom then continues towards the rear where it splits in to 2. One part goes up the rear pillar to feed the tailgate lights, the other goes to the rear light cluster. The loom does not appear to have been modified as it is neatly bound. Anyone know if there was an alternative routing for this cable? Regards, Iain

Hi Iain,I have a cosworth estate and the cd changer is on the left hand side as said in previous posts. If you look behind the flap next to the speaker this is where you should find the lead.If not check behind your head unit to see if it has been fitted.Roy.

Hi Roy. According to the wiring diagrams it should have been fitted as standard. As I said before, Ive stripped the whole side panel out to check the loom. I'll have a look behind the head unit when I next get a chance. Cheers Iain
