Anti roll bar

A bit of advice needed Is it possible to repair/build back up the part of the front anti roll bar around where the bushes sit ? Mine is rather gouged & pitted, & the bushes I replaced a couple of months back (took a chance) have worn already I've tried the 'black electrical tape around the bar' idea, but the tape just rips up within a few miles. I dread to think how much these things cost new from FMD I remember reading somewhere about a repair paste that does exactly the job, but can't remember what it is called.....anyone have any idea ? Or maybe Quik Steel would be tough enough to do the job .......hmm....I think I may have just answered my own question ... ....but any more advice would still be handy
