Hi Guys, I am in the middle of replacing my water pump and stat and i dont have a pit so need to get the car off the ground high enough to work under, anybody have a suggeston of how to do this? I'm thinking of axel stands or something similar. Cheers Richard

I think axle stands are fine for extra safety when working on one wheel for brakes, suspension, Etc., but I'd feel safer with ramps for a complete front end lift.

100% Buy or borrow some proper Car Ramps. Working under a car can be very dangerous if you don't have the right equipment. I'd also chock the rear wheels as an extra precaution. And don't even think about working under there with just a jack.....please !!

Definately a good set of ramps, i lost a friend when he decided to work under car with just a trolley jack. Please please never just use a jack.

axel stands on both wheels mate, chock the back wheel, just make sure the stands are on stable ground jim
