I took one out but didn't refit it.... I cut round it with a sharp flexible knife, just to see if I could. Then I smashed it putting it in the wheely bin.... The heater was kaput... Replacing should be done using the correct compuond and should be done by a proper screen fitter as the integrity of the car is dependant on the strength offered by bonding of the windshield and back screen.... The back one I removed quicker.... with a hammer. hth Pete

I've tried this too, I reckon the best option is to buy a new one if you need one its safer too! most original Scorpio windscreens now are showing little signs of age its very unusual to find one with the heating elements all working anyway.

I was trained to remove and refit direct vehicle glazing (windscreens to you and me) by Thatcham. There's no reason why you shouldn't refit a screen removed from another car but I'd have to agree with highlander on the heater element part of things
