no it has not broken ,but my scorpio is getting close to 200k and after all the time and money I have spent on it I dont want to risk the chain going bang.I have done all the oil changes every 4 months but on start up for a split second there is a noise like something is dry of oil or worn ,but only from cold start ,no problem at all when warm ,and no noise while driving ,just the split second on starting .Can it be something else ?? Could there be an oil way blocked ,would anyone advise an engine flush? regards again David

chain tensioner may be faulty, leaking oil when the engine is off so the chain goes slack untill the engine starts and the oil pressure rises, re tensioning the tensioner (similar to the 24vs)

the 2.3 tensioner is a non serviceable part, you have to buy a new one from ford Sad

So all I need is a tensioner and a chain ,does it come in a kit from Ford ? is there any other parts that need replacement while I am at it .
