Seems to be a hot topic recently. So hopefully some advice My ABS & TCS lights have been coming on & off for a while...... .....come on all of a sudden, for no reason....stay on for a while...then go off A month later...when it's raining....the lights come on again for no reason....but this time they don't go off....even after a couple of days This happened to me recently & today I removed the rear sensors (un-bolted them & they just popped out ) They were covered in about 2mm of black oily grunge & slivers of metal ...... Cleaned it all off with brake cleaner, & now.....no more ABS/TCS warnings on the dash Sorted....

Bizzay....do you get a resistance reading from them ? Mine were 1.05 K ohms (taken from rear seat connectors) before I cleaned them....so I knew they must have been working okay.......just a barrier of gunge was stopping them from doing their job

1.13 K ohms on both rear sensors, cleaned a fair bit of gunk off of them though - could the 'pot' that they look down be filled with muck, maybe clean them out with a cotton bud ??

The sensors look down to a cogwheel that is on the driveshaft....so exposed to the elements. I did turn the hub & spray (through the sensor hole) the cogwheel as it turned with carb cleaner, until it looked clean

Noticed my ABS warning light came on driving in heavy rain, the warning light stayed on for the rest of the 100 mile journey, next day driving home warning light gone out and has remained off, no doubt if the lights come on again it will be a cleaning job. podge.
