I would not have thought so , because to get at the valve stem oil seals you have to remove the valve spring and that does require the heads to be off. IS there nothing in the manual about it ?? have look HERE

I have done that job on a petrol without taking the heads off, but I dont know about an oil burner. What I did was remove the plugs and feed small cord into the cylinder, bring the piston up untill it would not turn any more. This jams the cord between the piston and the valves, I had to make a special tool to remove the springs. I have also heard you can do it with compressed air

Colin If you do try it make sure you block all of the oil ways and any other potential holes with bits of rag or similar. Theres nothing worse than watching a tiny part like a collett or something dissapeer down a hole :'(

Lets us know the outcome I did it before on a Capri that I once owned & I took the head off Good thing about doing it this way, is the option of being able to manually clean with a drill, all the carbon off the valve seats with a wire brush drill bit
