Advice please - retro fitting rear saloon lights

Do any of you nice people know if you can retro fit the older style lights to the back of the car?

My dilema is that I need to replace my N/S/R cluster and the middle lighting strip. I see lots of older type units but not many of the facelifted ones.

Can I simly just swap them our of is it a case of rewiring the whole thing.

Thanks for any help.

Phil

the face lift lights fit the older saloons, so cant see any problem with doing it the other way round.

there might be extra (tail?) lights on the facelift ones.

i seem to remember something like that. other than that, they should fit the same.

If I remember correctly, when I swapped to facelift rear lights, the centre panel on the facelift has dual filament 5/21w bulb fitted on the outer part and the pre-facelift only has a single filament 5w bulb. The 21w isn't wired to anything though but it means you do need the bulb holders. The wiring plugs are identical and no changes are needed.
