Hi, I am a new owner of a scorpio cosworth 97 model. I am about to change the spark plugs and noticed the plugs already in the car are AGPR 22PP3 as stated in the handbook. I noticed it said on this site they need to be platinum tipped. I have called my local Ford dealer and they said they are not correct for the car and that they need to be AGPR 22PPJ.... I have checked Halfords and they do stock a Bosch Plug HR7DCZ are these platinum tipped Any help and advice would be very grateful. Roisin

Hi, I use iridium plugs NGK BKR6EIX-11 from http://www.sparkplugs.co.uk/ Cost more than standard but last longer and give smooth idle good spark even if the leads have seen better days.

See here (bottom of page) for spark plug options for Cosworth. I've had Bosch (£24/6 in 2005) for last 20K still going great. I changed them from the Fords after the FMD failed to change them - they got changed after 30k but were still good!

Hi, Thanks for the information about the spark plugs. I did think about getting the bosch ones but at the spark plug options page it says the plugs must be platinum tipped. I found out the bosch ones are not platinum tipped does this matter Thanks Roisin

Another needing advice..... Are the plug options listed definitave or have newer plugs come out that can be used? Anyway, My local parts shop has just given me BOSCH Super 4, FR78 - but I don't think these are correct, and don't think they platinum tipped. Should I just tell them to get me the Bosch HR7DCX / NGK FFR6B-11 variety? Cheers
