Hi all, I've still got some shift problems and need some help in the following areas, ? under light throttle what speed does a normal cossie change up 1st to 2nd, 2nd to 3rd and most off all what speed does OD normally kick in. mine seems late on the 1-2 change (10-15mph) and early into top (just over 40). Just to complicate things further, because im running out of options to cure my 1-2 change problem i deciced to change the vss even though my speedo fine. got one off a 24v scap 98 motor today, its got 19 teeth on the drive mine has 21 teeth!!! anybody know which is correct. as far as im aware nither car has had a diff swap!
Anybody any ideas?

First thing to do to cure MOST gear change problems is to clean the MAF as regards the speeds at which it changes I am unable to confirm these for you but I am sure others will soon.

I think the 1-2 change on light throttle is normally fairly early, o/d comes in around 50mph IIRC. Sadly I have man flu today so I apologise for any inaccuracies  Grin Wink

If the o/d comes in at 40mph, what does that put the revs at?

Hi, Think im getting somewhere, it used to drop the revs down to around 1500, but today i.ve changed the vss and  fitted the one with 19 teeth, OD now comes in about 50 Smiley the 1-2 change prob has moved, and is now a 2-3 slip Sad still at least the fuel consumption is improving, now at 12.5mpg and rising.
