Don't quite understand what you mean All tuning/timing is controlled by the PCM which takes readings from the various sensors around the engine.....so no manual tuning is possible You can superchip the PCM for better performance, but it it isn't cheap

theres no subsitute for capacity, the 2.0 will allways be a bit pushed, 2.3 is an improvement but the scorp is very heavy, there are cam / turbo kits etc for the 12v, most common for the 24v seems to be turboi conversion, the engine is a bit to rare for most companies to provide bits for, the limit factor on the 24v seems to be the lazy auto box & very high gearing.

Whereas the 24v is great at top end I've always the thought the 12v was quicker off the line. My old G reg. 2.9i 12v Granada was amazingly quick, much more so than my current 2.4i 12v Granada and 2.9i 24v Scorpio. I even toiled with swapping the Granada's engines over prior the demise of the 'G' reg Or perhaps the reason maybe I should just simply empty my boot
