Alarm Diagnostics?

You could carry out a diagnostic test of my Granada's alarm system by quickly and repeatedly thumping the under bonnet sensor with the bonnet open. I've tried similar on the Scorp and got no reaction, despite knowing my alarm is fully functional. On the Granada, once into the diagnostic mode it bleeped the alarm several times.
Whilst trying to sort some alarm problems out on a Mondeo, someone suggested repeatedly thumping the door sensor to get into its alarm diagnostic tests (untried as yet), but I tried it on the Scorp and heard nothing.
So, is there a diagnostic mode for the alarm on Scorp?
