Someone recently asked about a replacement aerial, which reminded me of a question I've been meaning to ask for ages. My estate has TWO aerials, and I wonder if anyone can explain their respective functions? Ta John

One on the rear window is there? That's normally for the manufacturer in-car phone kit if it was fitted, got one on the rear windscreen on the XJ. Bloody thing, if I remove it though I end up with a hole in the screen...think I'll leave well alone thankyou Regards, Bruce.

Hi Jonny, no I didn't know that, thanks I assumed because there's part of the bracket and the wiring inside that it was drilled through. Think I'll get out there with the hot air gun and meths one day

They use capacitive coupling between the two sides, through the glass.

I´w got a second antenna to. But mine is mounted in the middle of the roof at the end. Were does the wiring to this antenna go? Im thinkin of perhaps using it for a CV radio or somthing.

Hi Snowy, My TD had this as well, the cable will most likely run the length of the headlining and down one of the pillars, behind the trim. It's most likely to be on the passenger side as that's where there's most room to fit something like a car kit for a mobile phone or a radio of some sort, are there any tell tale holes in your facia or centre consul? I'd whip off the trim panel below the glove box and see if the other end is hanging around there somewhere. Cheers Jim
