First off i'd like to say hello to everyone as this is my first post.Secondly im looking around for a scorpion cosworth and came across this on ebay

But as im not mechanically minded i wondered if i should be worried about the handbrake cable needing changed.Could i be possibly forking out for new calipers as well as having to change the cable.I asked the seller but have had no reply as yet.How much do you lot reckon would be a good price as well.Cheers

If at all possible go and look at it before considering placing a bid.
Handbrake cable problem could mean the adjustment mechanism in the calipers has seized.
Condition is everything with these cars. Worth paying a bit more for a really good fault free one than one with problems or rust which could potentially be very costly to get fixed.

calipers are most likely at fault if the hand brake has loads of travel, imo i would try to find later date cossie 97/98.

yep, you should definately inspect with these cars, check the gearbox engages properly in all gears, run it warm at standstill to check for overheating etc. make sure idle is smooth and steady at 800rpm. check for knocks on front suspension. check when cats replaced. check fuel economy isnt awful (should be 28 on motorway, 22 round town ish). check AC works with no faults. check fuse boxes and inside of car for water (especially after today  Grin)

im in edinburgh if you want to take a run in my cossie to go see that one, this weekend. looks like its in the gilmerton area. i seem to have had most problems with mine, so can maybe help identify any issues.

failing that, Highlander can probably build you one from his stash of 50  Grin
