Suitable exhaust ?

Evening all.I,ve been offered a Peco universal rear box to replace my failing silencer, but am unsure if it will be suitable (flow rate). It is a peco Big Bore 4 universal with a 2 .25 inch inlet & is of straight through construction. The only reason im considering it is because it,s brand new & FREE .Plus i quite fancy the idea of it sounding a bit "fruitier" .But obviously i dont want to start cutting the origional box off if it,s going to restrict flow.As usual all opinions valued...Thanks guys & gals.....Craig
