Filters help!

Hi guys' I'm heading to Maccess tomorrow to get the filters to service my car. I thought I'd nothing to do but check the cataloges I have to get the part numbers. WRONG!!  Maccess mostly do WIX filters these days and I'm having trouble finding the right filter numbers. (oil, air and diesel)
My car was registered on 16/8/96 and is an Ultima TD Estate. Surely this is the VM engine? Wix and the Ac-Delco website say that the VM started in September 96? I thought that was the later DI engine and not the IDI one?
Can anyone give me the part numbers for the filters for my car please? Ford, Fram, anything really as i can cross ref. it in the catalogue

Just been doing a bit more checking, Wix & Ac-Delco list the engine code as SCC, is that right?
I've cross referenced the filters for both the SCC code, listed as October 1994 to August 1998 and the VM code listed as September 1996 to August 1998 and according to Wix, they're both the same anyway! This ties in with my Fram catalogue which only lists 1994 onwards and the part numbers cross reference okay.
I think I'm okay with this now but could someone explain the engine codes as I was under the impression it was VM?
Excuse me if I'm being thick, I'd just like to know why the different codes

as far as i know the scorpio only used vm engines, the early one being 115bhp and the later one (possibly late 96 early 97) 125bhp.
i have the earlier version and halfords have the air & diesel filter on the shelf, quite cheap, they dont normally have the oil filter though and my local independant spares place had a bit of trouble getting it right with the catalogue, fram i think....

That's what I thought, does the following Fram numbers sound familiar?
Air Filter CA 4237
Oil Filter PH2821A
Diesel Filter C1191PL
Cabin filter CF5852
