when mine started leaking I cut the bad bit out with a plumbers pipe cutter and put a piece of 9mm fuel pipe between the two pieces and secured it with 2 jubillee clips either end, there is very little pressure there anyways. Total cost was about £5 the shorter pipe alone was £28 from FMD

Sounds a good idea. I have some stainless braided 9mm fuel fuel hose left over from the Westfield build so should be just right for the job. When I cut the pipe, do i need to be prepared for a lot of fluid or will an old washing up bowl suffice?

If the engine is NOT running and cold then there will be very little loss of fluid ,
