Rear brakes from Scorpio to Sierra ?

Hope the admins don't mind me posting this question on here. I'm restoring my Sierra XR4i at the moment and am thinking about converting the rear brakes from drum to disc - just wondering if Granada / Scorpio parts can be used for this. The XR4i is the 2.8i cologne engined 2WD 3-dr version of the Mk1 Sierra and was only made from '83 ~ '85 and in fairly small numbers, not many left now ! I would like to go for vented discs rather than solid if possible. Any advice gratefully received.

Star sign is Scorpio ! Sierra XR4i's are great...especially when fitted with 4WD

XR4x4 are different to XR4i's though - the 4x4 has a 7.5" lsd with bolt on drive shafts where whereas the 4i only has a 7" non-lsd with pus in drive shafts (I believe) - I don't think they'd be a straight swap.

thinking the sierra axle and mk2 axle are the same?? obviously you need to investigate the drive shaft situation as the mark 2 is a five stud job .....but the axles are same type if i recall it correctly

OK, Mk2 Granada all had drums on the rear...and 5-stud hubs - I know - I had quite a few of them ! Think I might be better off looking for a complete Sierra 4x4 rear suspension and swapping the whole lot over maybe

Providing you take the complete set across, (disk braked) sierra hubs and shafts, and granada/scorpio rear brakes are compatable. You will need to do a little creative spacing on the disk/hub for clearance purposes. You'll need the 254mm disks from the Estate if you want vented as I beleive all the others were solid disks (maybe the scorpio cossie wasnt tho ? )
