Ok now the wifes been sorted with a new car, I'm left with 2 old ones. One HAS to go, the ? is which one. Rover 620 Diesel + Comfy, quite refined, 45mpg - Rusting arches and front wing, clutch beginning to go. Scorp 2.9 12v + Comfier, no visible rust, more toys - Thirsty, bust window, maybe losing charge I dont really want to put money in the Rover, but one has to go. But which ....

Sell the Rover and use the Scorp on a ram-raid and you'll never have to worry about money again You said yourself how touch it was to get into, driving through a shop window won't barely put a scratch on it Or even better, kidnap your bank manager and stow him in that massive cavernous boot while you await somewhere desolate and deserted for the booty Rover is a nice car, if you do a lot of town driving then the Rover would be better, for motorways and fast roads I'd keep the Scorp.. Nobody can make your mind up for you Regards, Bruce

Sell the Rover. Good engine on Scorp, window is easy fixed and losing charge should be fairly easy too.

I drive 40 miles a day all of it on A roads with about 3 corners! I just waver between a gas guzzler that felt fine the 5 miles I drove it 3 months ago and a Rover weve done 30k on but has odd burning smells causing a lack of confidence. I'd rather drive the scorp, so I WILL sell the rover and donate its cash to the scorp! Cheers guys...

| Alright m8, NSR window. Did consider breaking in using the fixed small window, but thought that'd be worse to fix.

Well I actually like the Rover 620 diesel; I think it's a cracking engine that I'd love to have again, especially as they are reputed to run on cooking oil (though it's direct injection with only 3 glowplugs, so I don't know how long it'd last on it!). Unfortunately the bodywork on the 600s do rust quite badly which is one of the things which put me off mine - I pressed on some bubbling paintwork below the passenger door mirror and created a 4in rust hole in the door! The other problem on mine, which basically killed the car, was the diff bearings in the gearbox collapsed, got ground up in the gear teeth and spewed out all over the drive, complete with gear oil. I'd have another Rover with that engine, but I'd rather not have another 600 and I think that was the largest car fitted with that engine. If you can afford to run the Scorp then keep that, otherwise keep the Rover but start saving up for it's replacement! Darren
