right, really have had enough of this, i cant find the relay in the steering column area, however when switched on i can feel/hear the relay click which suggests its working. all 6 bulbs work but the indicators are either on or off, no flashing, the same with the hazard lights. anyone got any ideas? before i throw the piece of ford s**t in a lake and buy a car from a real manufacturer........oh yeah, the wipers only work on full speed, dunno if its a related problem, checked the fuse/relay for the wipers.....

Phil, Are you sure that the actual flasher unit is not the culprit??. Surely if you are getting power to the lamps via the switch the only thing left is the actual 'flasher unit' which simply 'makes and breaks' the feed. Someone on here must know where it's located? Huh. Hang on in there!!. Wink Mike

hmmmmmmmmmm, flasher unit, what that look like then?
i wondered if it was related to the wipers as both started to fail around the same time.....

hi there

now that's strage. Undecided the wipers get their 'timing' from the timer module.

have you tried the diagnostic routine? see the fault finder for details. but, it still sounds relay/fusebox related.

right, thanks to Simmo's findings i have found the culprit, it is listed as a relay (29) and is located on top of the steering column piggy back style and it slides out easy peasy, it does act as a flasher unit though, i took it out, looked at it in a knowledgeable way, put it back and hey presto indicators flash..........until i put the steering column cover back, but least i know where the fault lies, as for the wipers.......whats this 'timing module'?

Hi Phill. Glad you've achieved some kind of result. The central timer module is shown HERE. If the flasher unit worked when 'exposed' could it be that the top cover is fouling a wire somewhere in which case the 'wiper' problem may be related. Have you tried them with the cover off as with the indicators??. Sorry you weren't at Badgers today but have no fear CB1 was his usual self !- Wink Grin Grin.

yeah i didnt have enough time to look properly, though after it initially worked it didnt work again whether the cover was on or off etc but i think it does suggest a bad contact. did you polish CB1's dash?
