hey all

i know Baz has this mod so i hope hes reading this! lol but anyone may be albe to help Tongue

just fitted the mec's for the rear seat recliners out of a mk 3 to my 24v, got a problem though, if i recline the seats right back they dont seem to have clearence under the parcel shelf (mecs at their furthest forward position the seat is where it normall would be)

do i need the mk 3 rear seat mounting brackets or do i need to trim the parcel shelf

also i could do with a wiring diagram or connections, ive got 3 cables coming from each switch, im assuming 2 are the power, is the third a kill switch connection?

I didn't have to make any mods & nor I think did Baz.
It's fairly close but goes under on mine, the cloth on the front edge of the parcel shelf just hangs down & pushes out the way when you recline the seats.

Just had a look at mine there are five wires to the switch 2 of which are linked, but since I didn’t have a harness it may differ slightly. Anyway 2 wires to the motor and the switch simply reverses polarity depending which way you press it. You should be able to work it out with a meter, but I can take a picture of the back of the switch with the wires layout if you want.

I have switch pins:
1 +
3&4 –
6 Blue to motor
7 Green to motor

You just need to cut the material that hangs down slightly so that it can move when one seat is back and the other forward. just a 1" nick on the 60/40 split does the job.

I have managed to do this in mine and did not have to change the shelf or mounting brackets. It was close but the seats did go underneath without no bother. I expect they all could be different though, with tolerances.

I'd be interested in hearing more about this mod - is it on the main site somewhere?  (If it is, I can't find it).

hi mate,

dont think its on the main site but its a pretty simple mod to do, fine a mk 3 granny with it fitted and take all the motors and switchs/caulings off. they'll bolt straight onto the mk4 (scorpio). you just have to run a a few wires back to the rear switches
