Hi ya all.

Whilst (still) investigating my dads 24v running probs today, we had reason to look around the area where the ECU is situated. Next to the ECU is a orange box.... does anyone know what this is/what it does?? Answers on a postcard please!! lol

Hi

I have this orange box in my hand at the minute...

I think it is something to do with the audio system although I can't remember.... you could trace the wire back to where it's connected maybe.

It has a 16 pin connector to it and has a part no 95GB10E50AC
it has another number 52010209A with the word Orange underneath it.

Inside it has a circuit board with a couple of IC's on board, it is very fine printed circuit so it will only be carrying low voltage signals.

With the numbers, someone may be able to identify it...

If you had been talking of a jumbo jet I would have said it was the flight recorder (black box) as those are orange.... Who knows?

Have you tried tracing wiring in a scorpio??  Roll Eyes Grin
Seriously tho.... thank you for the help so far!!  Kiss
We did wonder if it is anything to do with the engine immobilisation system??  Huh
1 thing that did happen.... we unplugged the proverbial "Orange Box" took it out and had a look at it.... plugged it back in, and so far, the scorp hasnt died.... as yet!! Cant be sure at the mo, that it has done anything, but at least if we find out what the orange box is for, then we can either rule it out completely, or investigate further.
Thanks again.
