Sorry for asking such a trivial question. The official model description for my car includes the letters "LT" - anyone know what this means?

Where is the 'description'?. If you are talking about the VIN plate the details of how to read it are HERE.

Leather? That's it? Odd that it should be in the model description.

Ok - looks like "Leather Trim" is important enough to be in the model description. I thought Leather was standard on the Ultima version of the car, but according to Parkers it's not, since there are LT and non-LT versions.

Just checked an old Ford brochure I have for the Scorpio - indeed, leather WAS an option on the Ultima ! On the Executive model, it even shows the electric sunroof to come only with an option pack - presume manual operation as standard ?

It's quite amazing that the "ultima" level of trim could still leave anything as an option. I guess I'm glad mine has it! One problem I have found with the leather upholstery is that, unless the front seats are very far forward, you can't fold down the rear seats - the upholstery is just too plush and voluminous. So I guess if it was standard, there'd be a lot of complaints - at least this way, complainents could kick themselves for ordering the leather! I did try moving the front seats back again after folding the rear seats, but this just starts making a squeeking sound, and I chickened out before doing any damage.
