2.9 12v auto speedo has stoped working .changed VSS and speedo head but still dosent work.whear do we look next ?? its got cruse

Loom problem? I had the same on my manual. The reversing light stopped working at the same time. Both were due to faulty wiring from the gearbox. replaced with a used loom from a member here and all problems disappeared.

looking under the glove box is a blue cruse controle box .do the signels fore the speedo go through this box ase the cruse lights are playing up ase well.the box on 2.316v is orange.iis this to do with the 2.912v being old and thick .like me??

Snoopy posted the wiring diagrams online, look in this thread. As far as I can tell from the diagrams, the output from the VSS goes to a connector (shorting bar) then spurs off for the speed control (cruise) module, speed signal for the radio and the instrument cluster. I presume this 'shorting bar connector' is in the main fusebox so goes through one of the main multiplugs but the diagrams are really confusing, don't quote me Agree with Kjetil, it sounds like a broken loom losing the signal somewhere, maybe one of the guys is more familiar with the wiring layout and can help more.
