2007 RDS to Sony keeping steering controls?

Hi,
I am thinking of changing my 2007 RDS with CD Changer (no changer fitted) to a Sony head unit. I have bought an ISO adaptor which works a treat but I want to keep the steering controls too.
I have found a Ford (Sony) SFOS001 Steering Control Adapter but it lists compatibility for Ford 5000, Ford 6000, Ford 6006 and Ford 7000 units. Does anybody know if this will also work with the 2007 RDS?
Many thanks
Phil.

Update on using steering stalk controls on a new headunit where a 2007 RDS was original equipment.

I finally got around to sorting this out and used an adaptor designed for the later Scorpio and Mondeo, the one with the yellow six way connector. It worked pretty much straight out of the box, I just had to add a power supply into the ISO connector for the Ford Amp. But in hindsight it would probably have been better to bypass the Ford one and use the one in the new headunit.

Also needs a seperate cable specific to the manufacturer of the headunit.

But the car specific one I used was a 29-653 available from here: http://www.incartec.co.uk/

I hope this helps someone else too.

Cheers
Phil
