de-catting....?

on my 24v i have to replace the caterlytic convert on the drivers side (well soon coz its breaking up) what are the pitfalls in de-catting the system ...i have allready replaced the exhaust manifold on that that side and that was LOL and theres a lot of heat generated under the bonnet with them so close to to engine ....what am i looking at pros and cons ...?

hmmm not much, i run a 24v with the cat internals removed and it still passes the emissions test no problems, there is no noticable power increase although i am sure there will b e a slight difference

Full decatting should release around about 30 bhp on the cossie (bypass the EGR too), although you run the risk of emissions failure at MOT time (but as highlander said, you might just get away with it)
