Automatic daylight function

Hi, Read somewhere the Scorpio was fitted with automatic lights in the nordic countries. Over there the law requires headlights 24/7, so automatic lights that turn on when the alternator is charging. I know retrofitting automatic lights is easy to do, I did it one on a mk3 Golf with a double relay, but reckon the Scorpio doesn't work that simply. Does anybody know if automatic daylights are taken care of using a plug&play relay, is it a programming task done at the service, or does it need to be done "the hard way" from scratch? Grateful for advice, Torbjörn

hi there iirc it's just a relay of the correct (maybe) type. best to check the wiring diagrams. again, iirc, the relay plugs into one of the sockets in the roof of the glovebox. hth

tlundkvi. Relay 14 in the back of the main fusebox engine side,is listed for day running lights in Scandinavia,UK cars are of course not fitted with that relay.Do you think the wiring may be in place ? GOZZ.

I'll have a look at the diagrams. Before any other action, I need to check with Ford if the relay is even available anymore, and if, at what cost. Torbjörn

tlundkvi. Many of those relays are the same circuitry,if your fingers are'nt too thick you could check the pin holes out with a meter or lamp. GOZZ.
